Investing in Commonwell Country
There are countless organizations that work countless hours to help their communities get on a path of growth and resilience. The Commonwell invests in these groups every year. Our employees invest many hours of their time in these projects. Our insurance products are designed to align with these communities and the people that call it home. Welcome to our 2023 Impact Report.
The Commonwell invests a portion of annual earnings before taxes in Commonwell communities through a range of core programs and volunteer activities.

Two Core Programs
The Commonwell invests in community resiliency through two programs that are focused on learning, engagement and capacity building.

Communities face challenges but show strength, creativity, and collaboration. At The Commonwell, we support growth through L.E.A.F. – the Learning and Engagement Accelerator Fund. Ontario communities can apply for grants to create programs or improve spaces that foster learning, play, and connection.
Launch Dates
New granting opportunities were launched in September 2023. Visit leaf.thecommonwell.ca to learn more, understand the process and register your community project or group for consideration.
One in ten Ontarians faces food insecurity. At The Commonwell, we’re taking action with SEEDit — helping gardeners grow and share fresh produce. With tools, tips, and support, we’re empowering communities to build connections and create a healthier, food-secure future—one garden at a time.
Launch Dates
The 2024 voucher program will return in Spring 2024. Redeem at local garden centres in your community. Details will be made available in early April 2024 at seedit.thecommonwell.ca
