PSPL Kids’ Portal: Escape into Knowledge
29 Mary Street Parry SoundP2A 1E3
Target Completion Date: June 1, 2022
What is this project about?
The goal of the Parry Sound Public Library is to create a safe space that promotes creativity, inclusion, and learning. There will be a unique visual entrance, highlighting our Northern Ontario culture. Literacy play tools will help children acquire a firm foundation of general knowledge and allow them to become successful readers. Meeting our funding goals will allow the library to purchase All-in-One Early Literacy Computer Stations. These stations are designed for children ages 2-8 and come pre-loaded with 75+ award winning learning activities.
Why is this project important to the community?
It is more important than ever to help children thrive by introducing them to technology in a safe environment. This donation will allow the library to educate children not only in literacy and math skills, but also in computer and technology skills. The programs are STREAM-aligned and include everything from cyber safety and coding to handwriting and reading. This will spark creativity in the community, lighting up young minds and encouraging them to embrace lifelong learning.
