What is this project about?

The Asphodel-Norwood Public Library (ANPL) Tech Revitalization Project will replace existing outdated technology, as well as provide additional modern technologies to our community. Our existing tech infrastructure is approaching end of life in 2025, and ANPL needs to continue to provide public access computers to ensure our community stays connected and has access to information in a safe and inclusive environment.
Through this project, ANPL also looks to enhance our Norwood tech space through the introduction of a digital notice board. The notice board will allow ANPL an additional avenue to promote services and programs within the community, building awareness about our many resources and community partnerships.
Updated technology and new resources will also provide additional opportunities for our library to expand our program offerings, including tech support for seniors, coding for kids, and digital literacy workshops. Through these additional program offerings, we seek to inspire, connect and empower those in Asphodel-Norwood.

Why is this project important to the community?

Ensuring our community members have access to information in a safe and welcoming environment, will guarantee ANPL continues to be a cornerstone for learning and growth in our community. Our rural community still experiences challenges when it comes to connectivity. Residents expect and deserve for the library to provide the necessary resources and modern technology to help bridge the gap. Our library provides services and programs to all ages in our community, and as we look to expand program offerings, enhanced digital resources are required. An updated tech space for both branches, and enhanced technology to be used for programs and program promotion, will provide access for all to connect and develop new skills.
